About the Episode
LifeBlood REI: We talked about real estate syndication, Spencer’s experience growing up with a father who worked in residential real estate for 30 years, how instead of pursuing that career, he spent 13 years working in the tech industry in Silicon Valley and the invaluable experience he gained from his time there.
We talked about how he and his wife became interested in passive real estate investing so they began their journey and investing in several different kinds of “passive” investments, but discovered they weren’t everything they were looking for.
We discussed the factors that motivated Spencer and his wife to start a real estate syndication company, the experience working with a spouse, and the challenges and opportunities of doing it during the pandemic.
We talked about developing an investment philosophy and framework, the three key areas the focus on when evaluating deals, his outlook for the foreseeable future, and how people can get involved with Spencer Hilligoss, CoFounder and CEO of Madison Investing, an organization making real estate syndication available to the passive investor.
